About Tracey
I thoroughly enjoy teaching art history, it is a diverse and lively topic that, handled correctly, leads to fascinating discussions and develops a student's critical thinking and analytical skills. It can be daunting to speak up in seminars and additional tutoring can create the confidence to voice your opinion and move the discussion forward. Everyone's opinion has something to offer to the group. I am an accredited higher education teacher with a proven record across multiple modules delivered at the History of Art Dept, University of York.

Art history can be a complex subject and the methodologies can be hard to get to grips with. My approach is to help students understand the scholarly texts through seminar-like discussion, and by better understanding them they can utilise these sources in their coursework. I have taught various modules dealing with interpretation of artworks, materials, architecture and multimedia as well as aspects of curation and exhibition. The lessons would be especially useful for first-year university students struggling to navigate their core modules and new concepts. I have experience of teaching students who have support plans in place for dyslexia and similar challenges. I could offer one-to-one tutoring allowing in-depth, targeting of the issues the student wants to address.
