About Stanley
I personalize your path by first assessing what makes your hands move differently than everyone else. We start with the basics of acoustic technique before moving into the specific styles that interest you most, such as improvising over a backing track. You will receive custom backing tracks so you can practice your soloing at home with a professional rhythm section behind you. My degree from Berklee provides the technical framework for our study, but the Chilean tradition provides the heart.
We keep things structured but open to your own creative impulses. You can expect a relaxed but focused environment where we prioritize your growth as a musician.

Do you ever find yourself struggling to bridge the gap between simple strumming and the expressive pull of flamenco? I bring my background from Havana and my formal education at Berklee to help you master the guitar through a deep understanding of rhythm and technique.
My 6 years of experience have shown me that players need more than just chord shapes, they need to understand the music behind the movement. We focus on everything from barre chords to complex fingerpicking patterns that bring out the true voice of the instrument. Many of my students are self taught players seeking structure or performance focused individuals wanting to refine their soloing. My teaching is deeply influenced by the Chilean nueva canción tradition which prioritizes emotion and narrative in every melody.
I have taught 274 students to date who wanted to move past basic shapes. It is all about the feel.
