About Peter
I’m a practicing, registered architect and university teacher with more than 30 years of experience in Australia, the USA, UK and China. I’ve worked as a Design Director with leading Tier 1 architectural studios and now bring that experience into teaching. I teach in both design studios and professional practice programmes at the University of New South Wales.
I enjoy helping students discover their own ideas, develop confidence and understand how to turn a good concept into a strong architectural project. I don’t believe there is one right way to design, so I tailor each lesson to the individual student, their brief, ambitions and university requirements.
I teach because I enjoy seeing students make breakthroughs—whether they are struggling with a concept, developing their drawings and reports, responding to feedback or simply trying to understand what makes architecture work. I aim to make architecture clearer, more enjoyable and achievable.

Personalised architecture tutoring using design critique, sketching, site analysis, option development, theory and sustainable design. Strong focus on developing powerful drawings and models that will build your portfolio.
I help you analyse briefs, marking rubrics and university feedback to target improvements, tailoring each 60-90 minute lesson to the student’s goals, strengths and challenges. Tutorials can include one or two students.
My approach combines listening carefully to your goals and ideas, with practical design strategies and clear, constructive feedback to help students achieve stronger outcomes and results. I teach all levels and ages and hold a Bachelor of Environmental Design, Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture (Sustainable Development) from the University of NSW.
