About Maia
I hold a B.Arch and an M.Arch in Sustainable Architecture, with 11 years of experience teaching architecture and mentoring aspiring designers. My academic background deepened my understanding of how thoughtful design impacts communities, environments, and everyday life. My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, encouragement, and guided exploration. I support students through creative uncertainty and help them build confidence in their ideas while refining them with structure and clarity. I believe strong design emerges from both freedom and discipline. Outside teaching, I remain engaged with architecture through design research, sustainability studies, and conceptual exploration. Teaching architecture is deeply fulfilling because I get to support students as they discover their creative voice and learn to express ideas with confidence and purpose.

Architecture becomes truly inspiring when students understand how ideas evolve into meaningful, functional spaces. My lessons focus on guiding learners through design thinking, spatial reasoning, and creative exploration in a structured and supportive environment. I help students balance imagination with logic, showing how form, function, and human experience work together in architectural design. Each lesson encourages exploration while providing clear direction and purpose.
Students begin with fundamental skills such as sketching, proportion, scale, and basic composition. As they progress, lessons include spatial planning, material understanding, environmental considerations, and visual presentation techniques. Advanced learners focus on project development, concept refinement, portfolio building, and narrative clarity. I emphasize thoughtful design decisions, clarity of expression, and disciplined creativity throughout the learning process.
Architecture lessons also strengthen observation, imagination, and problem-solving abilities. Over time, learners become more confident expressing ideas visually and conceptually. My goal is to help students develop a strong creative identity supported by professional design principles and structured thinking.
