About Emery
My interest in architecture began with observing spaces and understanding how design influences human experiences. This passion led me to earn a B.Arch in Sustainable Architecture, developing expertise in design thinking, modeling, and spatial analysis. Over 8 years, I have guided students in cultivating creativity, clarity, and technical competence through structured and supportive lessons. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, combining sketches, models, conceptual discussions, and real-world examples to make lessons engaging. I encourage independent exploration, critical thinking, and creativity, allowing learners to develop their own design voice. Outside teaching, I explore urban design, sustainable architecture, and conceptual modeling, integrating these insights into lessons to enrich student learning. Supporting students as they discover creative potential and articulate design ideas confidently is the most rewarding part of my work.

Architecture becomes inspiring when students learn how abstract ideas transform into functional and aesthetic spaces. I begin lessons with foundational design principles, spatial awareness, visual proportion, and basic drawing techniques. Students explore conceptual thinking, form development, and model creation, learning to balance creativity with structure and functionality. Lessons are designed to encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and conceptual clarity, helping students gain confidence in expressing their ideas.
Intermediate lessons focus on advanced sketching, material applications, functional design, sustainability, and problem-solving. Students analyze real-world architectural projects, learn to evaluate design decisions, and understand the relationship between aesthetics and practicality. These lessons build both creative ability and technical understanding while fostering a professional design mindset.
Advanced lessons emphasize project development, portfolio creation, architectural presentation, and design critique. Students practice organizing ideas, refining sketches, modeling projects, and communicating concepts effectively. My teaching approach combines structured guidance with creative freedom, ensuring learners develop confidence, practical skills, and a professional perspective in architecture.
