About Richard
I am a full-time architectural technologist with a background in architectural visualisation and virtual reality design.
I graduated with two degrees: an MSc in Planning and City Resilience & BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology. I do like to put an emphasis on design and sustainability, you're not just looking for a tutor but a friend who can guide you with expertise and empathy but remain unjudgemental even to your wackiest ideas.
My educational foundation is robust but augmented by extensive professional experience in architectural technology with AJ100 Companies but also with various multinational technology conglomerates regarding VR Design.
Equally offering a rich, insightful learning experience. I'm dedicated to fostering a supportive, engaging environment where questions are welcomed, and creativity flourishes. Together, we'll explore the fascinating world of architecture, sustainability and even urban planning, hence preparing you to succeed academically and excel in your future career.

Methodology:
My tutoring approach centres on creating an engaging, interactive learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs and interests. With my background in architectural technology and city planning, I employ a mix of theoretical knowledge but more of a heavy focus on practical application, ensuring students grasp both the concepts and their real-world implications. I strongly believe in a pragmatic approach, so please expect sessions where we create and generate ideas together without judgment.
Levels for Architecture Students Going to University or Current University Candidates:
I am happy to help with resumes, Personal Statements and Portfolios. I welcome students of all levels and ages, especially those in the early stages of university or entering UCAS. I would love to guide you and help create portfolios of work that you would like to submit to universities and AJ100 companies to showcase your work.
As someone who also applied to UCAS and various Architecture schools with no art experience before A-Levels, I know the process is quite daunting. Therefore, guiding and helping students create portfolios is something I love taking part in. It is to produce a story of your academic journey and showcase your strengths.
Secondly, the gap between year 2 and Year 3 is when many universities push the narrative of placements and participating in the professional environment. As someone who received two different AJ100 placements (later turning into my graduate position) during this period, I can help you find the best way to make yourself marketable towards these companies before you graduate.
I am also open to working with professionals seeking to expand their knowledge of architectural design, sustainability, and planning. My goal is to impart knowledge and inspire a passion for creating sustainable, resilient urban spaces.

I currently specialise in Vectorworks (BIM), Enscape, and Sketchup.
Note I also work with Revit and Rhino with Grasshopper; however, please consider some of the other exceptionally experienced professionals on this platform.
