About Tan
Hi there! I’m a friendly English and ESOL teacher who loves helping kids learn and grow in confidence. I have a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and another in Data Science, and I’ve been teaching ESOL and NCEA English Writing classes. My lessons are full of fun, games, and activities that make learning exciting while improving your reading, writing, and speaking skills. I believe every student can shine when they feel supported and enjoy what they’re learning!

- Year 1-7 NCEA English Writing lessons for children above 5 - ESOL lessons for all levels (A1-B2) for all ages - Small classes at length of 50 minutes - For children under 7 classes of 30 minutes are available - Learning plans tailored to the level of students - As a Master of Applied Linguistics, I am a high achiever in ESOL exams, and have been involved in private teaching since 2001. Most recently, I taught three Year 1-7 NCEA English Writing lessons in Auckland for 4 terms in 2025. - As a Master of Applied Data Science, I am fluent in coding, gamification and technical teaching methods. I have been experimenting with interactive gamified teaching with my Year 1-7 NCEA English Writing classes.
