About Luke
I am a 28 year old cis-male, currently finishing my PhD in Anthropology at the University of Sussex. My research is about the social and ethical impacts of genomics and genetic testing on families in Iceland. I have conducted extensive research with individuals and families with or at risk of different genetic conditions, with a view to understanding how it impacts them and their relationships with the family and Icelandic society. But my passion lies in teaching! I have been twice nominated for my teaching, and this is because I understand that being a student is very challenging today. We each have different responsibilities and needs, so I ensure that my classroom is safe, accessible and inclusive to all. There are different ways to participate and learn. So, my goal is to find what works for you. My qualifications: 13 GCSE's (2 A's, 1 C, and the rest B's) A levels: - Anthropology B - Sociology A* (100%) - World Development (A) - EPQ (distinction) - 20th Century British and American Politics and History (B) BA Anthropology and International Development (first class, honours at the University of Sussex) MSc Social Research Methods (distinction at the University of Sussex)

I am able to offer individual personalised lesson plans with experience in adapting neurodiverse pedagogies to empower and inspire students to achieve their educational aims. My lesson plans are tailored towards the individual, but typically involve digesting and making sense of complex ideas/theories. I incorporate all mediums of learning: visual, auditory, kinaesthetic etc. I have been teaching at the University of Sussex for just over 3 years, and have been twice nominated for teaching awards. So, while I have no rigid lesson plans and always aim to take the student first when designing any teaching material, I have a few tried and tested methods up my sleeve. I am able to teach anyone and everyone of all abilities and identities
