About Olivia
I am a student in my second year at the University of St Andrews studying Economics and Psychology. I have completed the IB Diploma, with Higher Level Mathematics. My tutoring experience is displayed in my consistent tutoring of my sister in predominantly maths, with further support from teaching mathematics to handicapped children in India for a week that was achieved across a language barrier. In addition to this, in my final two years at secondary school, I tutored a boy two years younger than me chemistry which incorporated my mathematical aspects. At University both of my subjects include maths modules, therefore my skills are relevant and up to date. I have experiencing teaching maths at a very basic level to up to IB maths standard.

My teaching method is a breakdown of each topic on the syllabus, I go through each topic thoroughly to ensure comprehension of the topic. This is followed by practice exercises and experience with applying the knowledge to questions they will be asked. I try to cover every type of question that could be asked of them. I follow this with a short test to evaluate whether they have understood the topic. After this conclusion, I either go over the topic with a deeper insight or move onto to the next topic - this is dependent upon their level of understanding.
