About Sara
I am a first year student accepted at St Andrews to study Comparative Literature and Mathematics, minoring in Art History. I come from Madrid, where I studied in the Lycée Francais de Madrid with a specialisation in Literature and Mathematics and graduated with AAA. As a hobby, I love learning languages (Danish and Italian are my two recent ones) and reading, mainly XIXth century literature.

Generally, I try to distinguish if the student in question needs reinforcement, that is to say that my classes would be complementary to another course, or if it is a parallel class in a subject in which I would be the only teacher. In the first case, I always look for dynamic ways to reformulate the agenda, different approaches that help you better understand and above all different cognitive experiences that help to assimilate and remember the information as well as possible. And once I achieve this, I expand this knowledge, so that the student is always ahead and with some margin. In the second case, having much more freedom of course, I start by finding out what exactly the student wants to be trained on. For example, in French classes I try to see what he wants his Italian for, because if it is for an official exam I would focus on grammar while if it is for travelling for example I would focus on conversation skills and culture. With regard to mathematics, I would stick to more general lines, checking first that the student has no gaps so as to be able to delve freely into the program.

I found Sara through superprof when I needed help for preparing the exams for my A levels on further maths. I was running against time and very stressed, and she proved to be very efficient and clear as a teacher. I got an answer within the day, and by the next morning we were working on my next exam. I am very thankful for the help she provided, since I would not have been possible to obtain the grade I did (A) without her.
I am a student at the University of Edinburgh, trying to learn Spanish. I found Sara through a friend of mine, when she was getting started in the business. Sara introduced me from scratch to spanish language in a very fun and interactive way, she didn't only taught me grammar and vocabulary, but also idioms and elements of the spanish culture. She is an excellent teacher!
I hired Sara because my son Tomas (13 yo) was struggling with mathematics and french at school, and with the current covid situation, we didn't wanted to bring people home. I was not sure if online maths classes would work, since it is certainly more complicated than a language class. But Sara managed to do so! She used the same technique that is used for online teaching at universities and high schools, she was very attentive and kept checking on my son. I would recommend Sara to anyone struggling with mathematics!
