About Ruby
I hold an MLitt in Philosophy with Distinction from the University of St Andrews and a First-Class degree in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Edinburgh. Over the past six years, I have taught Politics to students at GCSE, IB, A-Level, and undergraduate levels.
My approach is tailored to each student: I focus on building confidence, strengthening essay and exam technique, and fostering a deep understanding of political concepts. All of my students to date have achieved top results, including level 6 or 7 in the IB.
I support students with the full syllabus, coursework, Extended Essays, and exam preparation. I am passionate about making Politics engaging and accessible, helping students see its relevance, think critically, and enjoy the process of learning.

I have an excellent track record with IB Global Politics students, all of whom have achieved 6 or 7. I bring experience not only in teaching content but also in guiding students through essay and exam preparation, as well as marking and proofreading coursework.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs: some focus on clarifying difficult concepts, while others emphasise exam-style practice. I take time to understand each student’s learning style, planning lessons to maximise effectiveness. Where appropriate, I encourage exploration beyond the syllabus, helping students engage with Politics in a deeper and more exciting way.
With six years of online and in-person tutoring experience across a wide range of ages and abilities, I am confident in my ability to provide the support students need to succeed.
