About Ellie
Hello! My name is Ellie. I am from the UK however have lived in Jamaica, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Serbia. I have been tutoring and working with young people since I was in High School, where I began on a voluntary basis. I have pursued teaching, tutoring and supporting young people professionally for the past 3 years.
I have a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Manchester. I completed the International Baccalaureate at an American International School and achieved the highest possible grade for Higher Level English Literature. I am also an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, climbing, reading about philosophy and psychology, practising yoga, Buddhism and meditation and spending time with my partner, friends and family.

GCSE-level English Literature
I can aid you in better understanding the books you are studying for your GCSE's and support you to complete associated coursework and study for exams.
Essay Writing and Proofreading
I will coach you on how to structure your essays and help you to brainstorm and overcome writer's block. I can help you edit and proofread your essays, and support you throughout the process of essay writing, from brainstorming and creating an outline, to editing your final draft.
If you are looking for support with your homework and coursework, I can provide this. Or, if you are looking for extra tuition to help you better understand your syllabus, I can create a systematic support plan that meets your needs and helps you achieve your goals. I will also support you to develop positive study habits and techniques so that you can study in a way that maximises your productivity rather than spending hours getting little done.
I conduct my classes with an awareness of barriers to learning such as emotional and learning difficulties. I am a sensitive and kind tutor, ensuring that you feel comfortable and relaxed so that you are able to learn more effectively. I know that at times, academic stress can be overwhelming, and as your tutor, I am here to support you through this. I have experience teaching and supporting young people with ADHD, autism, dyspraxia and emotional and behavioural difficulties, and I bring this experience to class with me. I know that the whole person comes to class, and as such, I am prepared to support you wholly to help you achieve your version of academic success.
