About Riyanti
I studied Arabic Language and Culture at the Arabic Study Program at the University of Indonesia by majoring in linguistics. I graduated with a GPA of 3.7 after studying for 4 years. Apart from that, I have also studied Arabic at a traditional Islamic boarding school for 3 years. I have taught Arabic privately to State MI and State MTs students based on the Al Azhar Cairo curriculum for more than 8 years. In addition, I have also taught privately to the general public who want to learn Quranic Arabic.

Before deciding what method I will use to teach: 1) identify the background of the students learning Arabic. I need to see if the student I am going to teach has studied Arabic before or not, so that I can adjust the way I teach and the starting point of learning. 2) identify students' goals in learning Arabic. This is also important for me to do so that I can determine which aspects of Arabic I need to emphasize when teaching these students. If my student is a student who is still in school, maybe the goal is to get good grades, then I will adjust to the student's school curriculum. If the students I will teach are the general public who want to understand Arabic in the Qur'an, I will use the approach of linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics). In teaching using this approach, I usually use comparisons with the students' native language so that it will be easier to understand.
