About Eva Brenda
I started working as a workshop leader since 2014, at first working with small groups of kids and adults (from 6 to 12 people per class). The lessons developed practical and creative abilities, working with manual motor skills and encouraging them to value and appreciate the importance of art in our everyday lives. After that, I started working in an English institute, bridging Fine Art to language learning in my classes. As a result, most of my students acquired a high level of fluency and also a deeper understanding of their own thoughts and emotions in a different language.

My name is Eva and I'm a native Spanish speaker with a Fine Arts degree working towards my master's in Linguistics and Semiotics. In order to achieve this, I decided to give Spanish lessons based on the method I started developing as my Master's thesis project, which states that a non-native speaker from any level is able to learn and express himself in a new language with proficiency if immersion and resolution are developed along the learner's path. The reason why I have chosen to steer my career towards languages is that words and images are related during the learning process of any culture throughout history. I mean, the first kind of language we know about is attempting to turn drawings into words, materialising the ideas of the author. As a consequence, this is an all-level course designed to enhance and develop any language learning skills for any student willing to compromise with the mutual learning process described below. The Unit topics are developed according to each student level and learning objectives, so he could stay interested and motivated in the learning process. Creating a wide spectrum of customisable educational techniques which can be applied individually or with small groups as well. Lesson Structure The complete course is divided into weekly units, which include 5 different lessons per week. Each unit covers a particular subject based on the student interests and learning objectives. There are 4 types of lessons I'm approaching in here: Lesson 1 and 2: Vocabulary and Grammar. On the first couple of days, these structures are reviewed on the first and second days of the unit. The classes are 2 hours long and controlled and semi-controlled drills are used to improve the students' understanding of the language. Lesson 3: Conversation Strategies. On this day, a subject of student interest will be chosen to develop and build a conversation. The conversations will also be adapted to each student level. Lesson 4: Reading. The student will read and acquire new vocabulary regarding a topic of his choice. The readings will be selected and adapted to the student level. Switching between Literary and Scientific Texts. Lesson 5: Writing. On this day, the student will deliver a short writing regarding the subject of the week. During the class, the text will be reviewed and edited with the professor's help, who will explain the grammar inaccuracies eliciting the correct answers from the student. Methodology: Student-Centred Approach: The teacher and the student will play an equally active role in the learning process. The teacher’s primary role will be to coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of the material and measuring the student learning process through both formal and informal forms of assessment, reviewing individual projects, student portfolios, and participation.
