About Barry
After 17 years service, Since 2004 I have been delivering a number of highly successful long and short Vocational courses for schools and organisations across the North of England, mainly working with young people close to exclusion and in danger of leaving education without any qualifications or the Key Skills needed for employment.Young people leaving school without qualifications are at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training)
I have substantial experience of delivering City and Guilds, Highfield, ASDAN, NCFE and OCR qualifications.
I also have significant experience in organising corporate training events, leadership residential courses and consultancy training.

I use a variety of teaching methods to ensure learning styles are accommodated including kinaesthetic, auditory and visual methods, and appropriate and sensitive assessment procedures to support learners and encourage confidence and trust. Through one-to-one support to overcome barriers I can engage learners and identify support which may be required. Assessment methods used are fair, and free from bias, including summative and formative assessments.
I use a combination of blended learning techniques to allow learners to learn different ways throughout their courses, such as through digital and online media and allowing some elements where students have control over their own time or pace. I use one to one classroom methods combined with computer-mediated activities and design my delivery to give my learners a degree of ownership to help motivate them and self-reflect.
My learners are supported and given time and space to interact with each other and make become part of a community. My programmes are designed to provide opportunities for learner interaction. I encourage sharing and have Social media platforms and encourage learners to engage and share content and resources related to the course. We use a variety of multimedia and other resources and content-delivery methods alongside learning activities to help keep our learners engaged.
