About Akiko
I first encountered yoga 19 years ago. I was experiencing physical changes that occurred during childbirth, child rearing, and as I got older.
It was then that I began my exploration of body and mind. I was fascinated by the feeling of connecting the mind and body through deep breathing.
I obtained my RYT500 certification as a yoga teacher in Sydney, Australia.
For the past 17 years, I have been teaching yoga as a form of self-maintenance based on the concept of yoga therapy, using breathing, exercise, and relaxation to balance the autonomic nervous system and lead to a clear state of mind.
I am Japanese with an English accent.

The basis of yoga starts with the breath. What kind of breathing are you doing?
By focusing on gentle stretches and looking at your body and mind, you can let go of attachments and meet your true self. We offer yoga that anyone can do.
At the end of the class, yoga nidra, a voice-guided meditation, will help you relax your mind and body and feel a sense of connection with your true self.
