About Raquel
Hi, I'm Raquel, a native Portuguese speaker originally from Portugal, now based in Sydney. I'm passionate about sharing my language and culture with students who are eager to learn.
I hold two university degrees; one in Communications and one in Psychology which means I don't just know my subject well, I understand how people learn. I know how to communicate clearly, adapt my approach to different personalities, and keep students motivated throughout their learning journey.
Combined with my tutoring and teaching experience, I bring both the academic grounding and the personal skills to make lessons productive, encouraging and genuinely enjoyable.
Whether you're a complete beginner curious about the language or an advanced speaker working towards fluency, you'll be learning from someone who has lived and breathed Portuguese their entire life.

As a native Portuguese speaker, I bring authenticity and fluency to every lesson, giving advanced students the immersive experience they need to truly master the language.
My approach is fully tailored to each student's goals. Whether you're looking to polish your grammar, gain confidence in conversation, prepare for travel, or connect with Portuguese-speaking culture, lessons are shaped around what matters most to you. No two students are the same, and I believe your lessons shouldn't be either.
Each session runs for 45 minutes. long enough to make real progress, short enough to stay focused and energized. Lessons are held online, so you can learn from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in Australia.
I bring a mix of formal teaching knowledge and hands-on private tutoring experience, which means I know how to explain things clearly and adapt when something isn't clicking. From complete beginners building their first vocabulary to advanced learners chasing fluency, I'm comfortable working across all levels.
