About Abigail

Hi! I am a graduate from California State University Northridge, where I received my BA in film production and was the Dean's Scholar Award for my graduating class. I have three years of experience as a video producer and editor at California State University Northridge, where I worked in the university's communications and marketing office. I now work for them as a freelance producer and editor, in addition to freelancing for other clients. Currently, I am pursuing my Masters degree in Communication Leadership at the University of Washington.

In my work with Cal State Northridge's videography team, I coordinate video production, conduct video interviews, and edit videos. Most of these are documentary-style videos or social media marketing and YouTube videos. I use Adobe Premiere Pro for all of my work there, and have been using the program since 2017. My freelance work involves podcast and social media content editing for Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. In this work I have used Autopod, Riverside, and Opus Clip.

I have a professional certification from Adobe in Digital Video using Adobe Premiere Pro. I am delighted to teach the ins and outs of Premiere to anyone who wants to learn! I am also familiar with iMovie and CapCut, and can guide students regarding best practices for planning and filming video projects.

I graduated from Cal State Northridge with my BA in film production in 2022. There, I learned a great deal about film and video production, and directed a 15 minute short horror-drama with animation and VFX that premiered in 2024. My specialization within my Masters program at UW focuses on storytelling, marketing, and branding.

I am a firm believer in the value of education and a strong writer - particularly when it comes to story. I love to help students achieve their educational goals by assisting and providing guidance on their reading, writing, and storytelling skills.
