About Juliana
Hi, I am Juliana. Born in Bogotá, Colombia. I left Colombia at the age of 17 and have had the opportunity to work and live in over 10 countries (speak 4 languages: Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese).
I have a Master’s Degree in Coaching Psychology and a second degree in diversity and inclusion. My professional experience is very diverse.
I worked in higher education for over 7 years in both academic and non-academic roles. Additionally, I have been teaching Spanish for over 7 years, in Australia and the United States.
With my 14+ years of global teaching experience, I have learned from diverse cultures and tailored my teaching style and materials to students' diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and individual needs.
My teaching style?
I love teaching, and I love building relationships with my students, using our classes as an opportunity not only to teach the language but also to share the richness of Latin American culture across its various countries.
I usually work with:
1. Travelers & adventurers: you have a trip coming up and want to feel confident getting around
2. Test preppers: You need to hit a specific score and want focused, structured help
3. High schoolers: Taking Spanish as a subject and need extra support to keep up or get ahead
4. Curious beginners: You have always wanted to learn a new language and want it to actually be fun
5. Partners of Spanish speakers: You want to connect with your significant other's language, family, and culture.

I have experience teaching both conversational and academic Spanish, from beginners (A1) to proficient (C2).
I aim to make the learning process simple, easy to follow, rewarding, and, very important, to also make it fun and engaging.
Throughout the lessons, the key areas that I cover are:
1. Have a clear understanding of the students' needs and identify goals (short-term and long-term)
2. In collaboration with the student, set up a learning plan so the student feels part of the process
3. Encourage outside-of-class activities and immersive experiences to support the learning and encourage students to get out of their comfort zone
4. Use online resources as a complementary tool to the learning 5. Plan check-in points to assess learning experience/journey to celebrate milestones and identify areas of improvement
6. Make the learning process fun

I’ve known Juli personally for six years, and for the past year she’s also been my Spanish teacher — and I can honestly say she’s one of the best educators I’ve worked with. Her online lessons are fun, patient, and genuinely effective. She has a gift for making the material click quickly without ever making you feel rushed or overwhelmed.
What stood out most was how fast I progressed. I went from a complete beginner to conversational in just four months. Her lesson materials are excellent, well-organized, and tailored to how I actually learn, and she’s always been flexible with scheduling around my life.
The real proof came when I traveled to Cartagena, Colombia, and was able to order food and drinks and shop for things entirely in Spanish — something I couldn’t have imagined doing just months earlier. That trip made it clear just how much progress I’d made under her teaching.
If you’re looking for a Spanish teacher who’s skilled, patient, and genuinely invested in your progress, I can’t recommend Juli enough.View more recommendations
