About Abigail
Hello! I'm a college student with over four years of tutoring experience and a passion for helping students succeed in STEM subjects. Throughout my academic career, I have studied advanced mathematics, physics, and computer science while working with students of various ages and skill levels.
My background includes a 34 ACT Math score (99th percentile), a 730 SAT Math score, a 5 on the AP Calculus AB Exam, and coursework in calculus, statistics, physics, and computer science. Beyond the classroom, I have developed independent programming projects, participated in STEM competitions, and explored computer science through both personal and academic experiences.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging problems. I believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance, and I enjoy helping students build both the skills and confidence needed to reach their academic goals.

My teaching approach is highly interactive and personalized to each student's goals, learning style, and experience level. Rather than relying on lectures, I encourage students to actively participate in the learning process through guided problem-solving, discussions, coding exercises, and real-world applications. My goal is to help students understand the "why" behind concepts so they can apply their knowledge independently and confidently.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing any questions from previous material, assignments, or projects. From there, we work through new concepts together using examples and interactive practice. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout the lesson, and I regularly check for understanding to ensure concepts are fully understood before moving forward. For computer science students, lessons may include live coding, debugging, project development, and algorithmic thinking exercises. For math and physics students, lessons focus on building strong problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding rather than memorization.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect with students and make challenging subjects approachable. As both a tutor and a recent student myself, I understand the common difficulties students face and can explain concepts in multiple ways until they click. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing confidence in their abilities.
Lessons are available for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students in mathematics, physics, and computer science. Whether you're looking for homework help, test preparation, support in a current course, or guidance on independent projects, lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs.

Abby is a great person to have on a team, she does everything she can to help someone and will never leave anyone out. She is dedicated to do what she needs to and is always happy to learn something new and push herself!
Abigail is an incredible teacher. Not only does she allow you to go at your own pace and is able to understand your struggles, she can explain things in a well structured way which can help bring everything together. As someone in the same grade as her who has never been perfect at following along with my classes, she has always been there for me and given me honest help while helping me stay positive and not burn out. She will do as much as she can to help you succeed and I stand by that.
Abigail is great at math at a high school level and she’s enthusiastic to the people she tutors!
Abigail is not only an incredible tutor, but a wonderful person. She is always patient and explains concepts thoroughly. Rather than sticking to a one size fits all tutoring plan, she makes an effort to individualize her learning style for each of her students so they feel both well taught and welcome. Having seen her teaching in real time, I highly recommend her as a tutor.
