About Sophie
With 5 years of tutoring experience, I know how to motivate students by finding methods that are enjoyable for them. I am patient and like to take the time to understand the needs of each of my students and communicate with them to see what is working for them and what isn't. I know how to encourage perseverance when concepts get difficult. I can also help with stress and time management tools. As a current student, I am in the same position as the students who I will be teaching so I can empathize with them and know how to best help them prepare for their next step in life, whether that be college or a career.

I tailor my lessons to each individual student and their needs. A lesson plan could include hands-on activities, online modules, workbook pages, flashcards, PowerPoint slides, etc. I have been tutoring since my sophomore year of high school and I am currently a junior in college. I have experience tutoring elementary, middle school, and high school students so I am comfortable teaching a wide range of ages. I care about each of my students and want to ensure their success. I like to get to know each of them individually and figure out their learning styles to allow me to help them in the best way possible.
