About Lauren
Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am a certified middle school English Language Arts teacher in South Carolina with experience teaching 6th grade and Support Reading. I work with a wide range of learners, including students who need extra support with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing, as well as multilingual learners.
I currently teach in the classroom every day, so I understand exactly what students are expected to know and where they often struggle. My instruction is aligned with state standards, and I use proven strategies that help students grow academically while also building confidence.
I hold a degree in education and have experience designing lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to individual student needs. I also regularly use data to track student progress and adjust instruction to ensure growth.
Families can expect clear communication, professionalism, and reliability. I take pride in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.
My goal is not just to help students complete their work, but to help them become stronger, more independent readers and writers.

I use a combination of proven classroom strategies and personalized instruction to meet each student’s needs. My approach includes:
Explicit instruction in reading comprehension strategies (context clues, summarizing, inferencing)
Vocabulary development through real-world application and repetition
Guided practice with modeling (“I do, we do, you do”)
Scaffolded support for struggling and multilingual learners
Interactive activities to keep students engaged and thinking
