About Meenakshi
Hi! I'm a fourth-year medical student with a strong academic background in the biomedical sciences, clinical research, and medical education. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and previously worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCSF, where I gained valuable experience working alongside physicians and researchers in a clinical setting.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I've developed a strong foundation in biology, biochemistry, physiology, and clinical medicine. I also have previous tutoring experience helping students understand challenging scientific concepts, strengthen their study skills, and prepare for important examinations.
Having navigated rigorous undergraduate coursework, medical school, and board exam preparation myself, I understand how overwhelming these subjects can sometimes feel. My goal is to make learning approachable, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs.

As a fourth-year medical student with a strong background in the biomedical sciences and experience tutoring students at various academic levels, I understand that everyone learns differently. My goal is to make challenging concepts easier to understand while helping students develop the confidence and critical-thinking skills needed to succeed academically and on standardized exams.
My teaching approach is personalized, interactive, and focused on building a strong foundation. I plan to incorporate presentations, practice questions, and active recall techniques to reinforce understanding. Rather than simply memorizing information, I encourage students to understand the underlying concepts and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions.
A typical lesson begins with identifying the student's goals and areas of difficulty. We then review key concepts, work through practice questions together, and discuss strategies for approaching challenging material. I also emphasize test-taking techniques, clinical reasoning, and recognizing high-yield information, particularly for students preparing for the USMLE.
Having experience navigating rigorous science coursework and medical board examinations myself, I understand the challenges students face and strive to create a supportive, judgment-free learning environment. I am patient, flexible, and committed to adapting my teaching methods to each student's individual needs.
I offer tutoring in foundational sciences, including biology, biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, and other preclinical medical subjects, as well as USMLE preparation. My lessons are open to students of all academic levels, from high school and undergraduate students to medical students preparing for their board examinations.
