About Charles
Hi! I’m Charles, a 4th-year LLB student at Emeris with a strong passion for History. I achieved distinctions in both GCSE and Pearson A-Level History and bring strong research, analytical and essay-writing skills to my lessons.
My teaching style is concise, patient and engaging. I focus on helping students truly understand History rather than simply memorising facts, while building the confidence and exam skills needed to succeed.

My approach to tutoring History is centred on understanding rather than simply memorising dates and events. As a 4th-year LLB student at Emeris, I have developed strong skills in research, critical analysis, argumentation and evaluating different perspectives — skills that I bring directly into my History lessons.
I achieved distinctions in both GCSE History and Pearson A-Level History, giving me a strong understanding of the demands of secondary-school and advanced-level History. I aim to make lessons engaging, structured and easy to follow, while helping students develop the confidence to explain historical events, analyse sources and construct strong, well-supported arguments.
A typical lesson will be adapted to the student's needs. We may work through a particular historical topic, clarify difficult concepts, analyse primary or secondary sources, practise examination questions, or develop essay-writing and examination techniques. I also encourage students to ask questions and challenge ideas, because History is not just about knowing what happened — it is about understanding why it happened, how different factors contributed to it, and how historians interpret the past.
My lessons are suitable for students who are struggling with History, students preparing for examinations, and students who simply want to improve their understanding and grades. I can work with learners at different levels, particularly secondary-school and A-Level students.
I am proficient in English and conduct my lessons in English. My teaching style is patient, approachable and interactive, with the pace and difficulty adjusted according to each student's individual needs and level.
My goal is not simply to help students remember information for an examination, but to help them develop the analytical and writing skills needed to become confident History students.
