About Avery
I am a third-year mechanical engineering student, studying at UBC Okanagan. I've taken dozens of courses in general math, calculus, physics, statistics, economics - and have never failed a course! I've honed my learning and study techniques over the years, and have helped my younger brother pass his high school Pr-Calculus and Physics courses; as well as tutoring math over the summer.

I learn by doing, and think most other people do as well. I teach with diagrams and visual examples, and believe every complex problem can be split into simple, workable bites. Every problem is something we solve as a team, moving on only when the goal has only been reached when we're moving confidently and effortlessly with each step.
How do I prepare for a piano performance? I practice speed, confidence, and technique over and over until the piece flows with ease and polish. The same is true with my approach to math - you should be able to step into that exam hall with speed, confidence and technique under your belt and look at those problems like an old friend (not a stranger you've never met before!).
Math is fun, which is why I love to bring humour and enjoyment to my lessons. Solidifying concepts and achieving your goals is exciting, and the process should be too!
