About Tanzila
I’m a 23-year-old, currently in my final year of Law at Australian Catholic University. I am dedicated to harnessing my skills to tutor and teach and I have previously tutored Year 1 to 12 students through a tutoring agency and am now looking to get my foot in the door for freelancing tutoring.
I also have my National Police Check and my Working with Children's Check!
Helping students gain clarity, improve their grades, and build confidence in their abilities before graduation was an incredibly rewarding experience for me. Before tutoring, I worked in fashion retail for 2.5 years, where I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills. And at university, I am an active participant in the Mooting Club, which has further strengthened my public speaking and critical thinking abilities. I look forward to getting to know each of my students and working with them as a team to achieve the best results for their individual goals and learning aspirations!

Teaching Method
I take a personalized approach to every student. My lessons focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, simple steps, while encouraging active participation through practice questions, discussions, and real-world examples. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, so I create a welcoming environment where mistakes are part of the process and confidence grows steadily. I also adapt my methods depending on whether a student learns best visually, verbally, or through practice. Each student is different and learning/adapting to what works best for them to achieve their academic goals is an imperative part of the process.
Typical Lesson Length
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, which is long enough to cover key concepts and practice questions without feeling overwhelming. For younger students or exam prep, I also offer 45-minute focused sessions and 90-minute deep-dive lessons depending on what’s needed.
Qualifications
I am a third-year Bachelor of Laws student at Australian Catholic University (Melbourne), with a strong academic record and extensive training in analytical writing, problem-solving, and structured reasoning. Alongside my university studies, I have over 2.5 years of professional experience in high-performance environments, where I developed excellent communication and mentoring skills. I have successfully tutored students for VCE English 1 and 2 and am looking to extend to more students to utilize my mentoring skills.
My lessons are ideal for:
- High school students (Years 9–12) who want help with essay writing, exam preparation, or subject mastery.
- Adult learners looking to strengthen academic writing, communication, or critical thinking skills.
- 1st/2nd year University students who need guidance in law, humanities, or writing-intensive units.
