About Amirul
Hi, I'm Amirul! I'm a 3rd Year studying Advanced Computer Science at UNSW.
I do high school mathematics tutoring (volunteer) in my free time (HSC math so far) and have a year of experience in private one-to-one tutoring/teaching university students in computer science courses. I'm happy to see when people I tutor meet their goals.
I was a team member on a student project: (concealed information) Currently, I am interested in Minecraft plugin development, particularly in designing and implementing RPG systems. I'm doing an internship/Taste of Research with UNSW, working on a firewall project for an operating system component. I challenge myself across domains of computer science, including algorithms, operating systems, and hardware programming.

My teaching style varies depending on who I'm tutoring and their goals/needs. What my tutee has found helpful is my approach to understanding the root of confusion people may have and tackling it. I can tackle and explain most concepts in the courses I teach. I also take into account my clients' strengths and weaknesses and incorporate them into their learning.
I will try to accommodate my clients' requests as long as it does not result in academic misconduct. Disclaimer: For help with course assessments, I'm only offering to discuss problems on a high level, i.e. understanding the problem and its requirements, and guiding you to the correct idea.
Location:
Usually, I would be tutoring in public spaces such as libraries (If you require me to book UNSW spaces, please let me know a week in advance, since booking fills up quickly). I'm open to travelling to the client's place if it's in a good proximity to me (I'm happy to accommodate further distance with compensation). A better option would be an online session where I will use my tablet for writing/drawing/explanations. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss more.
Rates:
50$/h if the first session starts in the first half of the term and 60$/h otherwise (due to heavier load on 2nd half of the term). I'm charging an additional $20/hour per person for a single session, up to a group of 4.
