I am a 27 year old graduate in with a BA in Classics and a Masters in Ancient Cultures. I am currently taking time out before hopefully proceeding to a PhD in Classics and then beginning a career in Academia.

I did not start with much experience in tutoring, but I had aided my younger sister in her homework. I now tutor two students weekly, one in Ancient Greek and one in Latin.
My approach to tutoring sessions would be that in advance of the session, the tutee would send a list of questions/areas to be discussed, and each session would be tailored around the respective list. Each session would probably be an hour to two hours long (with a break at the hour mark if longer than that). If there are any unanswered questions at the end of the session, or if new ones come up during the session but cannot be answered within the time, I would send a message to the tutee with the answers so there is no run-on which may affect their learning. Homework would be available as an optional reinforcement. My current tutees both work from textbooks, which I use as a guide to plan their lessons, and we progress through the book from week to week, with occasional tests to assess their progress and any areas to be worked on.
The sessions would be for any level and age, since they are merely intended to support learning of the subject rather than to replace a structured learning system.
