About Cecília
My relationship with mathematics stems from both logic and creativity. I've always seen mathematics as a great game of possibilities, patterns, and different ways of understanding the world. Algebra and trigonometry are some of my favorite areas precisely because they go beyond numbers: they work with reasoning, interpretation, and logical connections that often go unnoticed in traditional teaching. Throughout my life, I've also had teachers who profoundly marked my journey. This made me realize how the relationship between teacher and student can completely transform the way someone sees mathematics. A teacher who cannot communicate with the student can make them feel that they will never be able to learn. On the other hand, a welcoming and respectful environment can awaken curiosity, autonomy, and confidence. Interestingly, I myself had difficulties in mathematics during my fifth and sixth grades (current sixth and seventh grades). Many of these difficulties were linked to emotional issues and the changes that occur at this stage of life. This experience helped me develop more empathy for students who feel insecure, anxious, or disconnected from the subject. Today, my approach seeks precisely to reduce this distance that often exists between teacher, content, and student. I believe in a more humane education, based on dialogue, the construction of reasoning, and the meaning that knowledge holds for each person. I am strongly inspired by Freirean ideas of education, in which learning does not only mean memorizing answers, but developing autonomy and understanding. Besides mathematics, I am also interested in languages and communication. I speak fluent English, have intermediate Spanish, and am currently studying Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and German. These experiences have further broadened my perspective on teaching and the different ways in which each person learns. As a teacher, I strive to create welcoming, patient, and motivating classes, adapting the content to each student's profile. I especially enjoy helping students build logical reasoning in a more visual, creative way, connected to their own way of thinking. More than teaching formulas, my goal is to show that mathematics can also be artistic, colorful, interesting, and even fun.

I have a degree in Mathematics and I work as a private tutor for students who want to strengthen their mathematical foundation, improve their academic performance, or prepare for important exams such as ENEM, university entrance exams, and competitive exams. I work with the following subjects: • High School Mathematics • Algebra • Arithmetic • Geometry • Trigonometry • Probability and Statistics • Mathematics for competitive exams and university entrance exams. Classes can be held in person in Brasília – DF or online, in Portuguese or English, depending on the student's needs. My methodology seeks to adapt teaching to how each person learns best. I strive to develop more visual, auditory, practical, or more textually and logically organized lessons, respecting the individual pace and difficulties of each student. I have a patient, welcoming, and non-judgmental approach, seeking to transform mathematics into something more understandable and less intimidating. I also have experience in diverse educational contexts, including bilingual schools and internships in public schools, which has broadened my perspective on different learning styles and student needs. Besides mathematics, I speak fluent English, have intermediate Spanish, and am currently studying Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and German, which contributes to more accessible and human communication during classes. Important: some specific content may require prior alignment regarding the student's level and objectives before the start of classes. It will be a pleasure to help you build more confidence and autonomy in mathematics!
