About Issie
Hi, I’m Issie! I’m a motivated and enthusiastic student with a passion for History, Geography, Current Affairs, and General Knowledge. I’ve achieved top grades in History and Geography at GCSE, and I’m currently pursuing A-level History with a predicted A*. I love helping students build their understanding and confidence, whether that’s mastering exam techniques, exploring new ideas, or preparing for interviews. My tutoring style is friendly, patient, and interactive — I enjoy creating lessons that are engaging, discussion-based, and tailored to each student’s goals. Outside of academics, I run a current affairs society at school, which keeps me up to date on the world and helps me bring real-life examples and insights into my lessons. I’m committed to helping every student succeed while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

I offer personalised tutoring in History (GCSE–A level), Geography (up to GCSE), Current Affairs, and General Knowledge, with lessons tailored to each student’s needs. My approach focuses on ensuring concepts are fully understood through clear explanations, discussion, and active engagement. For History and Geography, I emphasise exam writing technique, structured practice, and tackling past papers, helping students develop confidence in answering questions effectively. For Current Affairs and General Knowledge, lessons are discussion-based, where students are prompted to explain and defend their ideas, as well as being quizzed on key facts, with follow-ups to reinforce learning over time. I incorporate reading, practice questions, and conversational learning to make sessions interactive, stimulating, and practical. Typical lessons are around one hour, but can be adjusted according to the student’s preference. I have a strong academic background, achieving 9s in GCSE History and Geography and a predicted A* in A-level History, and I run a current affairs society at my school. I have experience supporting students across different ages, from younger learners building foundational knowledge to older students preparing for exams or interview situations. My goal is to help each student understand, practise, and confidently apply their knowledge, making learning both structured and engaging.
